World Business and Development Awards

The World Business and Development Awards are made possible through the support of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF). The awards are in support of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and companies, institutions and associations of all types and sizes are invited to participate by nominating projects that document business activities leading to progress in achieving one or more of the MDGs. The winners will be announced on 24th September during a presentation ceremony in New York at the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel.

The GAIN Business Award for Innovation in Nutrition, in association with IBLF, is now open for entries from small to large companies, in a range of sectors. Alcan Prize for Sustainability

The Alcan Prize for Sustainability is a US$1 million prize that recognises organisations demonstrating a comprehensive approach to addressing, achieving and further advancing economic, environmental and/or social sustainability. The privately funded prize is awarded annually and IBLF develops, facilitates and manages the programme for Rio Tinto Alcan, in order to ensure credibiltiy and integrity for the prize. The 2008 prize is now open for entries.

Postgraduate Certificate In Cross Sector Partnerships, Residential 2

PCCP, led by the University of Cambridge Programme for Industry in association with IBLF, is now in its 7th year. The programme is a one-year, part-time course aimed at those in full-time employment earning an academic qualification at Master’s level. The programme enables participants to develop and deepen their understanding of the practical challenges of cross-sector partnering and how those challenges might be addressed. This course starts every April with a 4 day residential at Cambridge University and lasts for nine months, with the submission of the final project in December; it also six-months of e-learning followed by a second four-day residential and a preparation for the final project.

Business and Human Rights Dilemma: The Right to Water

Oxford Analytica International Conference - 'The Business of Migration'

Each September an opinion-forming elite drawn from the international corporate sector, international financial institutions, governments and multilateral agencies gather in Oxford to participate in Oxford Analytica's annual International Conference. The Conference is renowned for providing these international decision makers with the insights needed to guide their organisations through the challenging geopolitical, economic and social developments in the year ahead. Much of the day is spent in small seminar groups or panel sessions, with each participant having a personalised schedule designed to meet his specific needs. Responsible Business Investment Initative

Windsor Health Dialogues - Digital Health in the Face of Chronic Disease

Business and the Environment

IBLF's Russia Partnership will host a series of 6 round-tables throughout 2008 and culminating in IBLF’s Russian Business Summit. Each round-table will examine in depth a particular aspect of environmental impact and management from the point of view of business. The target audience will be Directors of Environment of leading Russian and multinational companies. At the first and last sessions, Board-level VPs of Operations or the relevant function will be invited. The culminating session – the Russian Business Summit, will be for CEOs of participating companies.
The participants will be from industries that have the biggest impact on the environment: natural resources, power generation, metallurgy, chemicals and paper and pulp. The format will be based on discussion and exchange rather than presentations.
The series will culminate with IBLF’s annual Russian Business Summit at which the conclusions and recommendations of the participants will be shared with some of the top global and Russian business leaders.

International Anti-Corruption Conference, IACC

The conference is organised by Transparency International and IBLF will be an official supporting partner. The conference main theme is to explore how countering corruption and enhancing good governance contributes to sustainable development. This year special emphasis has been put on bringing the voice of business to the discussion. Previous conferences have gathered over 1,300 participants from more than 120 countries. IBLF's Peter Brew will present practical examples how business addressed corruption collectively in countries and regions such as Vietnam, China, Easter Europe etc in the session on Combating Corruption through “Collective Action”.

Malaysian CSR conference
